Pennyroyal tea is an emmenagogue - promotes menstruation - whether the drinker is pregnant or not. This means that it's also an abortifacient, in theory at least. Didn't work for me. I drank gallons of the stuff early on and only managed to make myself mildly sick to my stomach.

To brew pennyroyal tea, place a couple tablespoons of dried herb in an infuser or strainer in a cup and pour boiling water over it. Let steep for 5-6 minutes. It tastes OK - unless you've once guzzled yourself sick on it!

Love, Hilda

In addition to being an emmenegogue and abortifacient (and tasting nice and minty), it can also carminative, i.e., calming, particularly to the stomach.
