Rooibos (Afrikaans for "red bush") only occurs naturally in one part of South Africa, you can hardly call that "monopolising". We can still get it in the loose form here, but I notice that it's becoming harder to find. I suppose they sell more bagged and so therefore bag more - supply and demand.
