Skullcap: taste.

Subject: Scullcap Tea UGH!!!

Herbal blessings everyone. :-) I wandered in to a new herbal store I found today. As I was picking up my usual selection of herbal teas, I thought I was give scullcap a try as I have been feeling rather STRESSED OUT lately.

This has got to be the most BITTER tasting tea I have ever tasted. Is this normal? If so, any suggestions to reduce the bitterness besides sugar (headaches), honey (don't care for it in tea)? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Sharon, I suspect I will have to switch to skullcap capsules as there is no way I can get past one sip without feeling a gag reflex coming on. It's a shame as I prefer to ingest most herbals via tea as I think the drinking of a warm cup of "something" adds to the relaxation. (don't know if that makes sense)

Now, what to do with a big $10.00 bag of scullcap. I suppose I could roll it and smoke it. :-p

don't think of it as tasting bad, think of it as having an earthy, herbal taste, reminiscent of the deep woods from whence it sprung.
