Growing garlic.

It's as close as your grocery store or nursery! You can buy garlic for planting at the nursery, but I was told it isn't any different than what you get in the grocery store - just more expensive. (Someone please correct me if I''m wrong!) Just divide up your garlic head into individual cloves and plant them. I was told to plant them in the fall for harvest the next summer. Good luck!

I would add to this, however, that market garlic may not have been grown in your climate zone, and may not be selected for best performance as a crop in your area. Nursery garlic is more likely to be appropriate for a garden where you are.

Growing Garlic??

Quite simple!

Go to the super market, get a bulb of regular garlic, carefully peel off the out side "paper", separate the cloves, and push them into the gorund point up, about 3 inches deep, let them go till the last of the season, and then dig them up.

Any roots left will grow garlic the next year.
