I take ½ cup of Aloe Vera before breakfast. I use George's. This brand has no flavor (it tastes like water).

Oil of peppermint has long been a traditional remedy for digestive complaints, especially in Britain. It seems to have a relaxing action on smooth muscle in the gut, reducing spasms, diarrhea, and/or constipation.

Essence of peppermint can be purchased in the drug store. 10-20 drops in a glass of water (warm or cold, sweetened or un) at bedtime works its magic overnight, and things feel better in the morning. As an added benefit, I find it seems to clear my mind and make me feel more cheerful. :)

I have this problem and find that a tea made of fresh basil, lemon balm and caraway relaxes and soothes the bowel.
