Zinc for acne
It seems that most acne is a zinc deficiency.
I read some of the "best of the herbal forums" posts a few days ago, and one of the "zinc is good for acne" things caught my eye. A quick read-through of a selection of acne posts pretty much confirms things:
"I never had acne in teens, and all of a sudden in my late twenties my whole face was a mess. My doctor recommended 30mg twice a day and my skin cleared up in a few weeks."
"I had a wonderful thing happen after decades of not severe but annoying acne. I was taking zinc for a cold, and noticed my face cleared up."
"After years of adult acne, I switched to using zinc ointment and found the healing results very good."
"I used to use zinc when I was younger and had an acne problem. I had some 50mg and some 15mg tablets. It took a week or so on 50mg a day to have an effect, then 15mg/day would usually keep it in check."
Cool, no?
