Senega Root, in No. 20 powder 40.00 | 8 ounces
Strong Solution of Ammonia 0.52 | 50 minims
Oil of Gaultheria 0.15 | 15 minims
Alcohol, a sufficient quantity.
Diluted Chloroform Water, a sufficient quantity.

Mix the powder with the strong solution of ammonia and sufficient alcohol, diluted with three times its volume of diluted chloroform water, to damp it evenly. Complete the repercolation process, and dissolve the oil of wintergreen in the product, which should measure 100 (20 fluid ounces). This preparation should be kept a month before use.

A product closely resembling infusion of senega is obtained by diluting 1 part of this preparation with 7 parts of distilled water.

Dose.—2 to 4 mils (½ to 1 fluid drachm).
