Preparation.—"Camphor, fifty grammes (50 Gm.) [1 oz. av., 334 grs.]; fluid extract of belladonna root, a sufficient quantity to make one thousand cubic centimeters (1000 Cc.) [33 fl℥, 391♏︎]. Dissolve the camphor in about two hundred cubic centimeters (200 Cc.) [6 fl℥, 366♏︎] of the fluid extract, and then add enough of the latter to make the product measure one thousand cubic centimeters (1000 Cc.) [33 fl℥, 391♏︎]. Mix thoroughly"—(U.S.P.).
Action and Medical Uses.—This preparation may be applied locally to rheumatic and neuralgic parts, sprains, and other painful conditions, particularly when there is also spasmodic muscular action.
