SYNONYMS: Syrup of rhatany, Syrupus ratanhae.
Preparation.—"Fluid extract of krameria, four hundred and fifty cubic centimeters (450 Cc.) [15 fl℥, 104♏︎]; syrup, five hundred and fifty cubic centimeters (550 Cc.) [18 fl℥, 287♏︎]; to make one thousand cubic centimeters (1000 Cc.) [33 fl℥, 391♏︎]. Mix them"—(U. S. P.). This is a clear syrup, holding 27 minims of the fluid extract of krameria in each fluid drachm.
Action, Medical Uses, and Dosage.—This syrup is usually added to astringent and antacid mixtures, to be administered in the non-inflammatory diarrhoeas of small children. Dose, ½ to 1 fluid drachm.
