Barosma Betulina.

Properties: Diuretic, tonic, stimulant.

Use: It is slightly diuretic, increasing both the watery and solid constituents of the urine. Has a soothing, tonic and restorative effect on the urinary apparatus, bringing, about normal action. We think of it in mucous and mucopurulent discharges from the kidneys, bladder and urethra, gonorrhea, catarrhal conditions of the bladder and in irritation of the bladder from excess of uric acid. It is also a good tonic to the muscular wall of the urinary apparatus. As it is not objectionable to the stomach, in fact, being of value in some form of dyspepsia, it may be given with confidence in any weak and irritable conditions of the mucous membranes of the urinary apparatus.
