Andrographis.
Andrographis. Br. Add. 1900. Andrographis paniculata Nees. (Fam. Acanthaceae.)—Under the name of Kiryat this plant is stated to be used to some extent in India as a bitter tonic, having similar properties to chiretta. Add., 1900, recognized the infusion (Infusum Andrographidis, one ounce to a pint), dose, one-half to one fluidounce (15-30 mils); the concentrated liquor (Liquor Andrographidis Concentratus), dose, one-half to one fluidrachm (1.8-3.75 mils); and the tincture (Tinctura Andrographidis), dose, one-half to one fluidrachm (1.8-3.75 mils).
