3.4 Herbs for shade

Sweet cicely and woodruff are two I've had good luck with, in heavy shade. Most culinary herbs prefer full sun. Those that are shade tolerant, as a general rule, are not as heavy on flavor.

Many of the broader leaf herbs will grow in the shade, especially the ones that tend to bolt. A good example of this is cilantro or parsley.
