Does anyone have any info about herbs that help with upset stomachs?
After I went through countless bottles of antacids, Tums, etc., I decided to try the natural approach.
I have been taking Slippery Elm Bark and Licorice Root (though not together) and these seem to only help mild cases.
I am new to the world of herbs, but am interested in their remedies. Any help on this matter would be most appreciated.

Hi, my stomach problems actually brought me to herbs. My favorite is fennel seed tea. I grow lots of fennel now as does my mother. Her neighbors come in and take it if she is away. Grind the seeds (I use traditional pestal and mortar; or use a hammer, placing the seeds between waxed paper or a cloth napkin if you have to) then steep in boiled water for twenty minutes (minimun). Drink. Another favorite from my childhood is making a tea of Chamomile flowers, cool the water slightly before you pour over flowers. But these herbs can't work unless they are around when you need them so go to a good quality bulk healthfood store and keep them around the house. Herbs purchased in the grocery store are ok. I got my first there, but are old and probablly sprayed. Also I have since discovered for myself that LOTS of acidophilus taken before meals has taken the stomach upsets away. Also I studied a deep breathing yoga method to calm myself down.

I've been taking liquid, tablet, plop plop fizz fizz, etc. for as long as I can remember. Catnip, one word, not as bad tasting as commercial "help". As an added bonus, it's cheaper than anything else I've found. It also confuses my poor felines. <g>
