Thuja in Chronic Enlargement of the Tonsils.

Botanical name:

With reference to your editorial page, 252 of 1908, THERAPEUTIST, during my fifteen years practice—both hospital (civil and military) and private, I have treated several cases of severe chronic tonsillitis with various remedies, both internal and external, nothing has given entire satisfaction except thuja applied locally mixed equal parts of specific medicine thuja (Lloyd) and glycerin. Of course I apply the clean out, clean up and keep clean principles in all cases and give Abbott's antiscorbutic tablets, one every three or four hours.

I also used to incise the tonsils but the disease recurred almost every fall.

When the tonsils are suppurating I also administer echinacea 5 drops in water every 6 hours, in addition to the tablet (No. 463).
