Arnica.
Botanical name:
ARNICA, L. Leopard's Bane. We have several species, A. nudicaule, doronicum, plantagineum, &c. weak equivalents of A. montana (The doronicum - a Senecio - cannot be equivalent. -Henriette), the roots and flowers of which are stimulant and discutient, very useful in palsy, rheumatism, congestions, typhys, &c. It is a narcotic, producing burnings, hemorrhage, vertigo and coma in large doses. Vinegar cures these symptoms.
